Last june Cosco took over control of Piraeus Port, the biggest port in Greece, and its goal is to create the biggest terminal for Chinese containers in Europe. Piraeus is on the shortest link between Europe and China, and for that reason it has a lot of interest for Cosco. Cosco is also seeking investment opportunities in Thessaloniki Port and in Greek Railways as the privatization process continues. One of the possible problems ahead is the privatization process blockade by the new Greek Cabinet.
